They will be available as separate editions, with extensive notes and commentary particular to each work included. Available June of 2012 will be a solo harp piece written for harpist Gloria Agostini in December 1980 by Torrie Zito, an American composer, pianist, arranger and conductor. Entitled Concert Etude, it is a virtuosic work that is perfect as a recital opener or encore. With subtle, jazz-influenced harmonies and classic harpistic arpeggiations, its effect is fresh and exciting.

Gotham Harp Publishing is a harp music publishing company featuring quality transcriptions of early music and original works by contemporary composers. Based in New York City, it was founded by Laura Sherman in 2012.
Early Music Editions:
•Bach's complete Cello Suites, transcribed and edited for solo harp by Victoria Drake. Volume I includes Suites 1-3 and Volume 2 includes Suites 4-6. Intermediate to advanced pedal harp.
•Handel's Concerto in Bb Major, Op. 4, No. 6. This transcription by Susan Jolles includes the original bass line of the first 1738 edition, occasional stylistically appropriate enhancements of the melodic content, and an original cadenza in the Baroque style. Intermediate to advanced pedal harp.
•Rameau's Pieces de clavecin, transcribed for harp by Susan Jolles. A collection of five solo pieces by this French Baroque composer, originally written for keyboard. Intermediate to advanced level, pedal harp. Titles are La Triomphante, Les Tourbillons, Les Tendres Plaintes, La Dauphine, and Le Rappel des Oiseaux.
•Selected Prelude & Fugues from J.S. Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier (Books I & II), transcribed for harp by Laura Sherman. A collection of nineteen solo movements by this German Baroque composer, originally written for keyboard. Intermediate to advanced level, pedal harp. Prelude & Fugues include BWV 846, 847, 858, 850, 855, and 872; Preludes only include BWV 848, 851, 853, 854, 857, 862, 866, 867, and 881.
•Critical editions of J.S. Bach's five Lute Suites, transcribed by Laura Sherman. Published as separate editions, each includes critical notes, commentary, and ornament suggestions. Intermediate to advanced level, pedal harp. BWV 995, 996, 997, 998, and 1006a (in two editions, one transposed to Eb Major & one to Db Major).

Laura Sherman is a New York-based harpist with extensive experience in classical, popular and commercial music. Harpist with the Broadway production of "Wicked" and founder of Gotham Harp Publishing, a harp music publishing company specializing in quality transcriptions of early music and works by contemporary composer, she also performs with a variety of classical ensembles in the tri-state area.
A versatile and well-traveled musician, Laura has performed, toured and/or recorded with such diverse artists as Jewel, Meredith Monk, Barbra Streisand, Ray Charles, Luciano Pavarotti, Marvin Hamlisch, Jon Faddis, James Galway, and Joshua Bell. Featured on WNYC's "Sound Check," "The CBS Sunday Morning Show" and "The Today Show," she has performed in many of the great concert halls in New York City and Europe. Tours with three Broadway shows have taken her around the world, with extended stays in Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Munich, Hamburg, Zurich, twenty-six cities in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and New Zealand.
Laura's life-long love of Johann Sebastian Bach's music inspired her to study with Rosalyn Tureck at her Bach Research Institute in Oxford, England. The end results, critical performance editions for harp of the complete Lute Suites by Bach, became her doctoral dissertation at the University of Michigan and were published in June 2012 by Gotham Harp Publishing. Laura was featured at the American Harp Society's 2012 Conference in New York City, performing and giving a master class on Bach's Lute Suites. She also gave a lecture-recital on this topic at the World Harp Congress in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1999. She has also been invited to give a Bach presentation at the World Harp Congress in Sydney, Australia in the summer of 2014.
Laura has had the honor of performing at numerous weddings and special events throughout the tri-state area during the last twenty years. Her passion, experience and beautiful gold harp always add a memorable, elegant touch. After nearly seven years of performing during tea-time at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park, she is an expert at tailoring repertoire to the tastes of diverse audiences.
Laura teaches privately and as an adjunct harp instructor at Hunter College in Manhattan. She has written articles for the American Harp Journal and the World Harp Congress Review about Marcel Grandjany and Susan Jolles, Playing Bach on the Harp, and Maurice Ravel's Introduction and Allegro.
